The countdown to the 2024 World Series of Poker is on. Each day until the start of the series on May 28, we'll bring you tips and insider info from some of the biggest names in the game.

How should players prepare for the WSOP?

I recommend those coming to play numerous WSOP events to study a LOT before they come so they can show up and implement their strategies well.

Especially as you play many days in a row, it is easy to either go on autopilot or tilt and start playing sub-optimally. The better you know the fundamentals of poker, the better you will be able to implement them when/if times get tough.

What event are you most looking forward to playing?

I always look forward to the Main Event. It is one of the few tournaments each year where the first prize is life-changing to pretty much everyone.

What is the biggest event you will play?

I am not sure yet. I often make the decision to play my highest buy-in games last minute based on how I am feeling and who is also playing the event.

I will skip the largest buy-in games if I don’t feel amazing. If the players in the field are all world-class, I will also skip them. The largest event I am sure to play is the $25,000 buy-in NLHE events
