Jonathan Little has earned the third PokerGO Tour title of his career by taking down Event #4 of the 2024 Poker Masters series. Little triumphed over an 81-entry field to win $226,800 in the $10K buy-in, which pushed his career live-tournament winnings over the $9 million mark.
All three of Little's PGT titles have come during 2024, and he completed the calendar-year trifecta by busting a newcomer to PGT action, Harvey Castro, during heads-up play. Castro collected $145,800 for second, while Jim Collopy's third-place run was worth $105,300. The top 12 finishers shared in the event's $810,000 prize pool.
Little, a well-known poker coach, entered Saturday's seven-player finale with the chip lead and stayed at or near the top of the counts the entire day. Little began heads-up play against Castro with a six-to-one edge in chips. Castro managed one double-up, but he would pull no closer. In the final hand, Little open-jammed with A-J, Castro called it off with 10-9 and didn't improve, sealing Little's win.
Soon after wrapping up the win, he offered a succinct update for his social media followers:
Win moves Little to third in Purple Jacket race
Little's win was his first cash of the 2024 Poker Master series, and it was worth 227 PGT leaderboard points, enough to push him into third place in the race for the ceremonial purple jacket awarded to the series' leaderboard champion. Event #2 winner Jeremy Becker continues to top the series leaderboard with 255 points. The four event winners in the series so far occupy the top four spots, as Justin Zaki is currently second, and Spencer Champlin fourth.
Jeremy Ausmus continues to hold a healthy lead in the 2024 PGT Player of the Year race, with a lead of nearly 500 points over Michael Rocco. Event #4 third-place finisher Collopy was the highest-ranking player to earn significant PGT points on Saturday, moving up to 17th in the annual leaderboard race.
