It only took a few moments, but Martin Kabrhel is already $500,000 in the hole on his trip to the Million Dollar Marathon after he ran right into Alan Keating's full house in a three-way all-in pot with over $2,000,000 at stake.
Kabrhel showed up to Hustler Casino Live about six hours into the Million Dollar Marathon, excited to sit down to play with Keating for the first time, along with the other "great animals."
"I like when people pay with a smile, and Alan can do that."
But it was Kabrhel who forked over $500K after he put most of his first buy-in into the middle with three jacks.
Easy game
It started out innocently enough with an initial raise to $4,000, which sent five players to the flop of . Keating, who flopped a full house with
, made it $25,000 and 'Steve', a lawyer from Chicago, called with
.
"I should probably go all in now," Kabrhel said before he raised to $69,000 with from the next seat over.
The other two players ducked out of the way and Keating smooth called with the best hand and a 2-to-1 advantage.
"If you call now Steve you are my new hero," Kabrhel said to his neighbor, who had $784,500 in front of him and the same three jacks as the Czech motormouth.
'Steve' shoved it all and Kabrhel gave his cards another look before he joined the party with his last $421,000. Keating smiled and called without much hesitation before the three players agreed to run it twice. The first board finished up with , followed by
on the second board, dodging the few outs that Kabhrel and Steve shared.
"The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated," Keating said as he dragged in the giant pot, which put him over $3,000,000 as the marathon stream neared its eight-hour mark.
Kabrhel reached for another $500,000 and went quiet, settling in for more of the marathon stream. He'll try to get it back from Keating throughout the overnight stream, joined by the likes of Nik Airball, Senor Tilt, and other HCL regulars. They'll try to play for 24 hours.
