The nomadic poker room at Milwaukee, Wisconsin's Potawatomi Casino Hotel will make its long-awaited return on May 2, following another round of major property renovations at the Menomonee River Valley venue not far from the city's downtown. Poker-player representation agency Above the Felt has confirmed that three of the agency's contracted pros, Jamie Kerstetter, Jaman Burton, and Matt Berkey, will be on hand for the grand re-opening ceremonies. Burton and Berkey are also members of the PokerOrg Player Advisory Board.
The three well-known pros will participate in the room's opening festivity, and then will co-host a special meet-up game (MUG) with the casino's cash-game players. The special meet-up game is scheduled to start at noon on May 2.
"We are proud to join forces with Potawatomi Casino Hotel to celebrate this occasion," said Tom Wheaton, Above the Felt's founder and CEO. "This partnership underscores our shared commitment to enhancing the poker experience for poker players in the region by bringing together top poker talent to interact with players, fans, and followers alike."
Venue's poker room has bounced from location to location
The poker room at 'The Pot' has been in operation for decades, albeit intermittently, as it's been shuffled on the casino's second floor over the years. Some of the room's movement has been due to multiple, major expansions of the casino itself.
The main floor of the casino has always been dominated by slots and other table games, while the second floor features a massive bingo hall. Though not detailed in the release, the revamped poker room is likely to be in or near its most recent location, with enhancements to the casino's sports book also part of the latest renovations. Meanwhile, the Potawatomi Casino online poker page remains a placeholder, likely to revamped in the coming days.
“We are thrilled to partner with Above the Felt for the grand opening of our new poker room. This event marks a significant milestone for Potawatomi Casino Hotel, and we look forward to providing an unparalleled experience for poker enthusiasts with Matt, Jamie, Jaman and Tom on-site,” said the casino's table-games director, Michael Hall.
