Some people are just born lucky.
Back in January 2023, Thomas Zanot was dealt a seven-card straight flush while playing Pai Gow Poker at the Flamingo. That netted him a crazy jackpot of $6,443,401, six times the previous biggest Pai Gow progressive jackpot.
Fast forward to the 2025 WSOP, and lightning has just struck twice.
Zanot pulled the second of two $1 million bounties in the $1,000 buy-in Mystery Millions event that attracted a record 19,654 entries.
When you're that lucky, you can even call it ahead of time. Ahead of the pull, Zanot tweeted to say, "I think I’m gonna pull a one-mill bounty today, then go home till the Main."
Tyler Montoya pulls the other $1 million
Both $1 million bounties have now been pulled.
The other was won by 23-year-old Tyler Montoya after a little over an hour of play today. Montoya, who has just under $500,000 in winnings on his Hendon Mob profile, has just doubled that with one lucky pick.
Asked what he was going to do with the money afterwards, he said he'd play more events at the WSOP. He also said, "If you’re a stripper in town, make sure you’re working tonight."
The Mystery Millions is going to make another millionaire, but the next one will have to earn it the hard way – by winning the whole thing.
At the time of writing this, the huge field has been cut down to just over 200 runners, and there's a cool $1 million up top with $563,350 for second.
Both Montoya and Zanot have now been eliminated from the tournament.
