The Brazilian contingent on GGPoker continues to dominate the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online as Roberto Firmino Santos Filho triumphed over the field in the $400 Colossus.
The Colossus drew a massive field of 16,455 entrants to smash the $5,000,000 guarantee and generate a prize pool of $6,187,080. Only 1,675 of those players advanced to Day 2 play.
Firmino's win comes as the largest in his career and marks the sixth WSOP Online victory for the South American poker powerhouse – extending the country's lead in the Bracelet Leaderboard rankings.
With 16 podium finishes thus far in the series and $3,370,411 in total winnings, Brazil has a comfortable edge in the battle for the top spot. As a collective, the Brazilian contingent are well-positioned to earn themselves a $200,000 country-wide freeroll following the conclusion of the series.
The final table of the Colossus included two notable names amongst the nine: Matthew Vengrin (4th, $344,876) and Ole Schemion (8th, $121,986).
Schemion was in search of his third wrist adornment, but bowed out early – a welcome sight for the remaining players as his dominance on the virtual felt is well-established.
Vengrin was chasing a second bracelet after claiming his first back in 2025. The American's maiden bracelet came in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha event at the summer series following a dozen close calls at various final tables.
Firmino finishes with style
When play reached the heads-up stage, Firmino had a comfortable lead over his opponent Evaldas Narmontas. The Norwegian wasn't going down without a fight, however, as he managed to double up twice to stay alive.
Firmino wasn't deterred by the adversity and a post-flop cooler that went his way saw him close out the win in style. On a board reading 
, the Brazilian moved all-in as an overbet.
