Daniel Negreanu finally found the virtual payout window in the WSOP Online series on Tuesday night, securing a $61K prize for his 18th-place finish in the $25,000 GGMillion$ Super High Roller.
It was the first cash of the series in seven nightly broadcasts for Negreanu, who has been streaming from Vancouver for the last week. He did it on the second bullet to lock in a net win of just over $11K.
The stream lasted just over eight hours and Negreanu spent most of it on his second entry after the first one went to dust early in the day. He eventually limped across the money bubble after an up-and-down day that almost required a third entry.
Scratching, clawing, cashing
The dreary day continued for Negreanu after his second entry and a third looked imminent on edge of the registration period.
"We gotta get some chips," he said after shoving his last 10 big blinds with and 10 minutes go to before registration ended. The board ran out with an ace and a deuce, keeping Negreanu in the tournament with 23 big blinds — and without the need for another $25K.
"We can play a little poker now. Not a lot, but a little bit."
From there, Negreanu bounced up to 35 big blinds and down to single digits over the course of a few hours, finding timely pots along the way to put him on the money bubble with around 10 bigs. The bubble drifted for a few orbits and Negreanu folded everything until he cashed in when Artur Martirosian busted on another table.
A pay jump to $75K was five eliminations away, so Negreanu got it in with and Marius Gierse called with
. A queen fell on the flop and seven-time bracelet winner cashed for just over $61K.
"Tomorrow we've got Day 1D of the $10K High Roller," Negreanu said to the chat as he wrapped up the stream. "I might late reg that, if that's ok with you. If not, we'll see you tomorrow at 11 am Pacific Standard Time."
Fear not — if he doesn't find a bag in the $10K High Roller, you can still find Negreanu in the commentary booth for the final table.
