Day 2 of WSOP Paradise saw things get serious as the Triton crew took over with its monster buy-in event. And the Triton Million got off to an explosive start when David Einhorn decided Jared Bleznick was getting frisky in the very first hand of the $500,000 buy-in. He wasn't, and Einhorn's six-bet shove with was snapped off by Bleznick, who obviously had aces. Asked if he had any five-bet bluffs on hand one, Bleznick said simply, "I'm going to be brutally honest: I don't."
Einhorn re-entered and made Day 2 in 47th position from a field that grew to 95 players, with 67 progressing. Another five players would see a $50 million prize pool, and late registration is open until the start of play today, which is midday ET. Michael Moncek is the Day 2 chip leader with 3,815,000 (191bbs). Sosia Jiang leads the women in 4th, with Jessica Teusl in 11th, Saya Ono in 54th and Monika Zukowicz in 57th.
Two players playing their first Triton event, Shaun Deeb and Daniel Negreanu, both found a bag. Deeb is clinging on with 500,000 in 65th; Negreanu is doing better with a stack of 1,965,000 good for 15th spot. He's starting his daily vlogs on Sunday, so we're hoping he finds a super-deep run.
You can watch all the action on a slight delay on PokerOrg Instant, with regular updates from the crew on the floor.
Event #3, the $100,000 PLO Super High Roller, starts at 2pm ET today, and there are three more flights for the $2,500 Mini Main Event in standard, turbo, and hyper turbo flavors. Zen Chen is the current Day 2 chip leader of the Mini Main with 1,290,000, and there are plenty of big names playing that one.
Hellmuth arrives in Paradise
If there are bracelets on offer, Phil Hellmuth is never far away, and he landed in the Bahamas on Saturday night but isn't rushing into anything. The first event he's going to play is the $25K Dealer's Choice Championship that starts on Monday.
He's already on the sweets as well, which is a good sign. He had to bring his own Jelly Belly Sours, though, as he wasn't sure he'd be able to find any in Paradise. You can't be too careful.
Players have already been complaining about the cost of food, and we can confirm that most places are not cheap. However, Beriuzy is bringing his daily tips from Paradise direct to X, and he's found the Holy Grail – a place you can eat for around $20. You heard us right. You shouldn't even be able to afford a bag of Sours for that price.
Best of Instant
The PokerOrg crew is prowling the floor at Paradise, bringing you the very best of the action and behind-the-scenes content. If you're there and you see Sarah Herring, Matt Hansen, or anyone else rocking the Org heart (or is it a spade?), make sure you say hi.
Our favorite Instant moment so far? Well, that's obviously a tough one. It's going to have to be Phil Nagy taking time out from the Triton Million to watch the latest Caitlin Comeskey video lampooning the team ACR chat. He took it well.
All the action kicks off today at midday ET. Keep it locked on Instant for the very best Paradise coverage.
In the meantime, you can rewatch all the action from Day 1 of the Triton Million below or check out the full chip counts on Instant.
