In poker’s long history, solver-based training tools are a relatively new phenomenon.
Learning how a perfectly balanced, game theory optimal (GTO) player would approach any situation is valuable information. Spending time understanding the GTO baselines is something most high-level pros feel is well worth their time and effort.
But, as we all know, poker is not a game of perfect play. Not everyone studies with solvers, and of those who do, few are able to fully remember, understand and implement the right moves at the right times.
That’s part of the thinking behind a new training tool to hit the market, QuintAce.
"For five years, the online poker industry has chased a myth based on a misunderstanding of landmark 2019 AI research which caused players to mistake machine equilibrium for human optimal strategy," says Dr Thanh Tran, CEO and founder of AceGuardian Technologies, the company behind QuintAce.
"In truth, static game theory optimal solvers have never been proven to beat top human players in live, dynamic games. With QuintAce, we are changing that by putting true, adaptable game intelligence directly into players' hands.”
Several online poker platforms, including WPT Global, have already been working with QuintAce to provide in-app coaching.
Now the software is available as a standalone service, currently in beta, at QuintAce.ai.

The app comprises analysis and training tools across no-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha variants, for cash game, ‘squid game’ and MTT formats.
Users gain access to an AI-powered personal coach, with hand analysis and practice sessions on offer, with a baked-in factoring of population tendencies that many other solvers don’t cover.
You can also learn more about particular playing styles, providing AI-powered versions of players such as Phil Ivey against which to test yourself.
Also available are ‘hand galleries’ that apply analytical tools to real hands played at various live tournaments, from the WSOP to Triton and more.
Furthermore, players such as Patrik Antonius and Jean-Robert Bellande have contributed to the conversation on how QuintAce can help identify and fix their leaks.
