Stop us if you've heard this one before, but Phil Hellmuth yet again bragged on Twitter about how amazing he is at poker. He just couldn't resist the urge to flaunt his results after some poker fans questioned his greatness.

There's no denying Hellmuth was deserving of his Poker Hall of Fame induction in 2007. And you simply can't hate on his game from the late 1980s until 2012 or so. At the WSOP, he's the most accomplished player in history, without question. He holds nearly every World Series of Poker record, including the two most important ones, bracelets (15), and cashes (162).

The "Poker Brat" hasn't just won in WSOP events. He was the 2005 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Champion and 2013 runner-up, and he has over $21 million in live tournament cashes. His resume speaks for itself in terms of his greatness for many years. He's a true legend of the game, indisputably.

Is Hellmuth full of himself?

While it's indisputable that Hellmuth is one of the all-time greats, many believe the game has passed him by. Younger poker pros often argue that Hellmuth's game doesn't translate to the current game theory optimal (GTO) philosophy. But the "Poker Brat" continues to believe in his game, and brag about his results.

"1 haters hate, doubters doubt. In 1991, they said I was done. Won 3 @WSOP bracelets in 1993 and 1 in 1994. In 1999, they said I was done: in 2001 I won one WSOP bracelet, and 2003 two more. I had over 40 final tables over three years. In 2005, TYGAT “Top Young Guns at the time," Hellmuth wrote on Twitter.

He didn't stop there. The 1989 WSOP Main Event champion continued showing off his impressive resume to his 290,000 Twitter followers.

"2 2005: the TYGAT (“Top young guns at the time”) said I was done: I won @WSOP bracelets in 2006 and 2007. In 2009/2010, TYGAT said I was done: 2011/2012 bracelets and 3 2nds in WSOP (finished second in Player of the Year BOTH years). In 2015, TYGAT said I was done," he continued.

"3 but, I won a @WSOP bracelet in 2015. In 2017, TYGAT said I was done, but I won WSOP in 2018; in 2019 at WSOP had 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th. In 2020, TYGAT says I’m done, but I won 28-out-of-31 televised cash games over 6 years. Haters hate, but they are not worthless: they FUEL me!!" Hellmuth concluded.

Colten Russell (@ccr1989) sarcastically responded to the tweets with, "Another Phil hellmuth tweet about how great Phil hellmuth is."

There are two things equally true about Phil Hellmuth. His poker resume is one of the best ever, and he loves to tell people about it. Those two things will never change.

Hellmuth may soon have an opportunity to again prove his poker prowess, at least in the heads-up format. Daniel Negreanu, fresh off his $1.2 million defeat at the hands of Doug Polk, challenged the 15-time WSOP bracelet winner to a heads-up battle.

Hellmuth, who criticized Negreanu's play against Polk, has yet to respond publicly to the offer. But he's already locked in as the early favorite according to BetOnline.ag, an online sportsbook.
