The live special edition of No Gamble, No Future featured Phil Hellmuth and Jennifer Tilly as mystery guests on Monday night, joining a $25/$25 lineup that also included comedian Joe Stapleton and sports commentator Nick Wright.
NGNF is a laid-back (see: loose) cash game that throws a few twists into the normal poker vibe, most notably the Wheel of Pain, a spin-to-lose feature that players can trigger through various actions — like folding to a four-bet.
The Poker Brat's new clothes
The Wheel of Pain's booby prizes can include a Wasabi shot or goggles that block your vision, but a few advantages lurk, like $100 from each player, or a coin that allows you to reveal one of your opponent's cards while heads-up. Hellmuth won a bomb pot, which gave him the right to choose the next player to spin. In classic Hellmuth fashion, he chose himself.
The wheel landed on "Stapes Shirt" — a black tee with a red heart that is filled with pictures of Stapleton, who acted as defacto host for the livestream. It was created by Tana Karn and RunGoodGear as a very limited special edition for the evening.
"I get paid a lot of money to wear these other shirts," Hellmuth said, hesitant about wearing something other than his security jumpsuit.
Hellmuth relented and put the shirt on, and a clash with Wright would soon follow.
Hellmuth snap-calls river raise
Jennifer Tilly raised to $200 and Wright three-bet to $875. Hellmuth called without much hesitation and Tilly got out of the way for a flop of .
Hellmuth check-called when Wright tossed out $600 and the turn was . Both players checked for a
river and Hellmuth led with a bet of $1,950. Wright stood up and worried about pocket jacks before he raised to $6,000.
Hellmuth snap-called and Wright picked up one of the bigger pots of the early going, sending his chip stack above $20,000 from an original $10,000. Wright continued to chip up after and he went into the first player break with nearly $30,000.
The special edition No Gamble, No Future livestream continues throughout the evening on the PokerGO YouTube channel and a full replay will be available once it ends.
