For almost 20 years One Drop Foundation has worked to improve people’s lives across the world through better access to safe drinking water. In that time the organization has also become well known in the poker world; founder Guy Laliberté’s passion for the game has led to a number of high profile, high stakes tournaments where a portion of proceeds goes to One Drop.

These include some of the richest tournaments ever played, including the $1M buy-in Big One for One Drop, first held in 2012, and the $100K High Roller for One Drop which began the year after.

A new One Drop tournament - The Big Deal for One Drop - has just been added to the calendar, taking place at Resorts World in Las Vegas during Formula 1 race week this fall. Phil Hellmuth has been confirmed as master of ceremonies for the upcoming event.

Produced in association with the WPT Foundation, the Big Deal for One Drop offers a (comparatively) much-reduced price tag of $10,000 and will take place on a single day - November 22 - ahead of the Las Vegas Formula 1 Grand Prix qualifying that night.

Entries have been capped at 54 players and the event will offer rebuys and add-ons. With the Formula 1 circus in town, attendees are expected to include a number of celebrities from the motor racing world and beyond. Laliberté has also confirmed he will be playing.

“I haven’t played poker much lately, but I really look forward to playing this one,” said the One Drop founder, “I think the intensity of poker and adrenaline of Race Week in Las Vegas are a perfect match, especially since the funds raised will support the vital cause of safe water.”

The one-day event will kick off with live entertainment at the Allé Lounge in Resorts World from noon, with the poker scheduled to finish in good time to allow players to watch that night’s F1 race.
