They say you can't win the $100,000 WSOP High Roller on Day 1, but you can definitely lose it, at least temporarily.
In fact, you don't even need to show up. You can just wait until Day 2, when you have two entire one-hour levels before registration closes.
A field of 67 players showed up anyway, and 31 of them still have chips. We'll know more about the full field on Wednesday, but, for now, we'll settle for a peek at who has the early edge.
Not much can happen on Day 1, but you can make a few moves to set yourself up, and Ren Lin did just that.
2026 WSOP $100K High Roller top 5 chip counts
- Ren Lin - 3.2M
- Galen Hall - 2.5M
- Mikita Badziakouski - 2.3M
- Vinny Lingham - 2.2M
- Sean Winter - 1.9M
Lin leads, Kabrhel lurks
Lin has the top total after 10 levels of play, bagging 3.2 million from the 1M starting stack to clear Galen Hall in second by about 700K. Mikita Badziakouski followed in third, Vinny Lingham is in fourth, and Sean Winter rounds out the top five. Daniel Negreanu and Martin Kabrhel are also above the starting stack line.

We will see a lot of players for Day 2 registration. Last year, Day 2 added 26 late runners to bring the total field to 103. This year could be even more. Everyone gets a re-entry, and a few players are going to need it.

Play resumes at 1pm Vegas time and players will have two full levels to join the tournament. After that, the real action begins.
