Authorities in Amarillo, Texas, are on the hunt for three men who participated in the armed robbery of the only legal poker room in Amarillo, Texas, the Amarillo Poker Room, late on Sunday night.
An armed robber entered the room at about 11:10 pm on Sunday, according to local news reports. Two accomplices waited outside in a red Dodge Charger, which had been backed up close to the club's main entrance to presumably allow for a fast getaway.
Inside the club, the robber approached the cashier's cage and showed a note demanding money. The cashier at the time, a 21-year-old male, quickly complied. "He came in last night with a gun pointed at our office employee demanding money," the club posted on its Facebook account. "Our employee cooperated with him and luckily no one got hurt."
After the robber and his accomplices left the scene, some time elapsed before police notified. Local reports state that Amarillo police received a call about the robbery at 11:53 pm. According to the police department's case log, no arrests have been made and the incident is listed as an aggravated robbery.
Despite the robbers' quick getaway, authorities have security footage which could help them quickly identify the offenders. The primary robber was captured on multiple security cameras, with his black-and-orange NY Yankees ballcap and black Nike hoodie clearly visible. Witness testimony also disclosed that the robber had a "broken heart" tattoo below his left eye. Images of the red Charger that the robbers fled the scene in were also given to authorities and published on the room's FB account.
The Amarillo Poker Club has also offered a reward for information leading to the arrest of the robbers.
