The era of long lines at the World Series of Poker may have come to an end with the announcement of a full rollout of the WSOP+ app in time for the 2025 series.
You will now be able to register and buy into WSOP live events directly from your phone using the app, which is now available to download on iOS and Android at WSOPPlus.com.
The app will also feature a virtual waiting list and notification system for quick word when your seat is available. A virtual queue will replace the long registration lines seen previously throughout Paris and Horseshoe.
WSOP+ has been featured and tested in the past at WSOP Paradise in The Bahamas, where players were able to buy in and receive a seat assignment from their phone. A smooth rollout and strong reception from players in December set up its debut at the summer series.
The WSOP+ app has the chance to meet a desperate need, with fields that are constantly growing. If I had been placed in charge of the series five years ago, it would have been my number one priority. If I can fund my account, view open tournaments, buy in on my phone, and get my seat assignment before I even leave my room, that's a massive improvement. If they get it right, it will make the summer grind so much easier on everyone. More people will enter, fewer people will be frustrated by long lines, and the user experience will improve dramatically. Bravo is outdated, problematic, and not at all user-friendly. I hope they get it right with a seamless transition, and if they do, I'll use it every day.
"WSOP+ will further elevate the WSOP experience for all of our players," said Ty Stewart, CEO of the WSOP. "Not only can our community now save time and effort by registering in advance for their favorite tournaments, but the app will also showcase WSOP content and all of the important event information that participants are eager to have at their fingertips!
The app will also curate content and serve as a bucket of information with events, structure sheets, chip counts, daily results, seat assignments and more. Information, such as tournament clocks and players remaining, will be featured in real time, so you'll always know when the bubble is about to burst.
WSOP+ mandatory but app not essential
A WSOP+ account is required, though you may register and play without a phone. An account will be created at the cage where you can register and receive a ticket. That ticket will have a QR code and tournament staff will scan it for seat assignment information.
Online pre-registrations will need a one-time in-person verification onsite at the WSOP. An Online Registration area will be located inside the Champagne Ballroom on the Paris side of the series. You will need to show a valid, unexpired photo ID.
Payment methods available include ACH for US players, credit/debit cards/PayPal, Luxon Pay (non-US only), WSOP Online Qualifiers, and Paris tournament accounts that are funded in person at the WSOP cage. There will be no fee for tournament tickets except for a 3% charge on credit/debit transactions. In addition to a WSOP+ account, you must have a Caesars Rewards number.
100 bracelet events start May 27
The 2025 World Series of Poker starts May 27 with a Mystery Bounty event with a $1 million top bounty and runs through until July 16, when the Main Event champion will be crowned. There are 100 bracelet events in total — the most in the history of the series — and the WSOP will be hoping that 2025 continues the recent trend of rising numbers.
In 2024, the WSOP in Las Vegas attracted 229,553 entrants and awarded more than $438 million in prize money — both all-time records for the series.
