Is Shaun Deeb willing to give up chicken fingers for the entire summer to get even money odds on a bet?
Apparently not. Not at any price.
The tasty thought experiment started with a proposal for a bet on the $25K Fantasy league. Ben Lamb and Daniel Negreanu offered Deeb a $250K team vs. team wager, but there was a wrinkle.
"He thinks he’s 60-65% to win, so I wanted odds," Lamb said. "He is refusing to give any odds."
The bet was a non-starter, so the talk turned fowl.
"After discussing whether [Deeb] would have more buy-ins or eat more chicken fingers this summer, I offered even money," said Lamb.
But there was a catch. Deeb would have to give up chicken fingers for the summer. He declined.
Chicken fingers over equity
So, how much does Deeb love chicken fingers?
Josh Arieh ran the calculations from a nearby seat and determined that Deeb is dumping around $83,000 in equity to eat chicken fingers at the WSOP all summer.
In the meantime, it looks like Lamb will keep a running tally on X. He dropped an update on Tuesday morning.
Deeb is averaging around 1.7 chicken fingers per day. Stretch that out over the rest of the series, and he is on pace for 80 chicken fingers. Take off a few for weekends and slower days, and we will call it 75 chicken fingers.
His favorites?
"Canes place in food at Horseshoe court Dave’s," Deeb said on X, presumably missing a few commas. Cane's, the place at the Horsefood food court, and Dave's Hot Chicken are all nearby options.
Meanwhile, Deeb is averaging around 2.5 buy-ins every day, with a pace that may settle in around 100.
Stay tuned for what might become the sweat of the summer.
