The 2024 WSOP is playing out in Vegas right now, but how can you give yourself the best shot at winning a bracelet? Check back daily for snappy winning WSOP tips from the world's best players. Strategy PDQ.

I mentioned in a recent PokerOrg article that players who are not as seasoned in many of the mixed games should watch the best in the game when they sit at your table during a tournament.

Let’s get real. How often do you get the opportunity to play with players at the top of their game? Rarely. In some of the smaller $1,500 entry events, some of the best in the world will sit down to pursue a bracelet. Don’t complain, “Oh, I have such a bad table. There are so many great players at my table.”

Instead, be f**king happy! Celebrate that you get to learn from these guys and girls. Now, when you play the $600 events at the New Orleans Casino, try to incorporate three things you learned from those great players you observed.

I suggest that you treat it like a Lego set. There are building blocks to the mixed games. The more comfortable you get, the more situations you put yourself in, and the more hands you play, the more your game will grow.

You don't need to know precisely if you’re 42%, 36%, or 53% in a spot. Just know that you are probably continuing in the hand, and by not raising it's not that big of a deal. It’s limit poker.

The worst thing you can do in limit games is become too passive and not play enough hands. Even with that knowledge, it’s a people game. There are still so many people trying to lose their chips quickly. Look for those types of players, and you’ll be ahead of the game.
