Canada's fourth bracelet of the 2026 WSOP will come with an extra treat, as $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold 'em champion Homan Mohammadi plans to use his regular profession to add something special to his bracelet ceremony.

Mohammadi, the 55-year-old from Deep Cove, British Columbia, near North Vancouver, topped a field of 7,538 to win $660,000 and his first World Series of Poker bracelet.

Mohammadi plans on making the most of his moment on the podium when he’s officially presented his bracelet.

“I really wanted to sing the Canadian national anthem live, because I’m a composer and singer-songwriter," he told us. "I’ve performed the anthem live before with the orchestra, and I want to do it here. It would just feel so awesome. Just for that, I’ll come back.”

Mohammadi can't wait to sing his nation's anthem at his bracelet ceremony. Mohammadi can't wait to sing his nation's anthem at his bracelet ceremony.

Mohammadi had hoped to perform on Saturday before taking his bracelet with him on a family vacation to Europe – he's leaving Las Vegas in the evening. But on short notice, the WSOP couldn’t commit to a ceremony so soon.

Instead, after celebrating his win in the Mediterranean, Mohammadi will return in July, near the end of the series, to receive his bracelet and get his chance to sing at the WSOP. Once a date is set, Mohammadi is inviting all Canadians at Paris and Horseshoe to join him in singing the anthem at his ceremony.

International flavor

Adding his bracelet to those of Kristen Foxen, Frederic Normand, and Chris Alcindor, Canada has the most bracelets among non-US countries at this year’s WSOP, with four, while Great Britain, Germany, Japan, and China have two each.

“Go Canada! You can’t get us down! We are here to battle,” said the Great White North’s latest WSOP champion.

With his win, the proud Canadian has moved up to 66th on Canada’s all-time tournament earnings list, according to the Hendon Mob, with just under $1.9M, another distinction that thrilled him when he was informed of it.

“Oh my God, lovely! I love it, I hope I can keep up and keep going.”
