A $1,000,000 Main Event will headline the first-ever World Series of Poker Circuit stop in the Lone Star State when Texas Card House welcomes players to Austin from April 23 through May 4.
Texas Card House has been on the Austin scene since 2015, when it helped to introduce the private club model to the state. Its facilities, and the state's poker market, have since grown to be the beating heart of poker in the United States, with dozens of rooms now operating in Texas. TCH now operates six of those rooms throughout the state.
The next big step for Texas poker is to host a WSOP event, and their time will come in April. The schedule is now out and it features 18 ring events, including several six-figure guarantees and the $1M Main Event.
It all starts on April 23, when dual six-figure prize pool tournaments push the opening weekend out of the gate. The first, a $100,000 guarantee, will be known as The First Lone Star Ring, and it will get the day started at 10am before the arrival of the first flight of the $600 Mini Main. The Mini Main packs a $500,000 guarantee, and it will offer five opening flights through Saturday before a Day 2 on Sunday, April 26.
Big state, bigger prize pools
Other six-figure tournaments include the Big Tex High Roller ring event, a $3,250 buy-in with a $100K prize pool on April 27, and the Monster Stack, a $100K guarantee that starts the same day. The Blazing Trail ring event will offer one more, a $100K prize pool with a $1,100 entry on April 29.
The rest of the schedule includes fun for bankrolls of all sizes, like the $400 Showdown at the Capitol on April 26 and an 8-Game Mix the following day. April 26 will also feature the $400 Ladies ring event, and April 27 will offer a $400 tournament to the Seniors.
All roads lead to the $1,000,000 Main Event with three opening flights from April 30 – May 2. Surviving players will return on Sunday, May 3, to play down to a final table that will fight for a winner on Monday.
