If you’re a friend of his, then Matt Berkey — star of this month’s The Interview — needs no introduction.
That may sound obvious, but Berkey has more friends than most; his daily video podcast Only Friends saw him regularly joined by thousands of viewers and listeners as he debated the biggest issues in the poker world with his regular crew and special guests.
Confronting poker’s major stories, scandals, news and views from an expert and informed perspective, as well as with a comforting regularity, Only Friends chalked up over 700 episodes before the shutters recently fell. As he announced in March, the production was forced to move from their hired studio and their run of over three years broadcasting to the poker community was brought to an end the following month.
It’s a loss that the poker world continues to feel, but Berkey was never a talk show host; his opinions on poker have always been informed by his extensive experience playing the game. As both a tournament and cash game player he’s racked up seven-figure scores, and has shared his expertise via his training site Solve For Why.
Now Berkey, a member of the PokerOrg Player Advisory Board, joins Craig Tapscott for an in-depth conversation in the latest edition of The Interview.
