On Jeju Island, South Korea, the nosebleed crushers on the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series continued to battle it out across the tour's first stop of 2025.

On Monday, action in Event #6: $25,000 WPT Global Slam came to a conclusion which saw Anatoly Filatov rise above the field to lay claim to the $1,882,000 top prize and his first-ever Triton title.

The following day, in Event #7: $40,000 Mystery Bounty, Sean Winter bested the rest of the bounty-hunting field to notch a first Triton victory of his own, along with the $935,000 top prize. Plus, with three bounties collected en route to the win, Winter will add even more cash to his tally when the players reconvene Wednesday for the bounty pull ceremony.

Filatov's homecoming victory

Event #6 garnered a field of 389 entrants (156 re-entries) to generate a prize pool of $9,725,000 with 63 places paid. While Filatov hadn't made an appearance on the Triton Poker circuit in 18 months, he picked the right moment to make his triumphant return. In his winner's interview, Filatov revealed that he has Korean heritage through his mother's side of the family – making his victory a homecoming celebration.

After starting the final table smack dab in the middle of the pack, Filatov managed to ladder up quickly as Jon Ander Vallinas and Orpen Kisacikoglu bowed out in the early frames of the final table – both players sent to the rail by chip-leader Calvin Lee

Lee notched another elimination soon after, taking out Pascal Lefrancois to increase his already-substantial chip lead. Lee took a break for the next elimination, allowing Igor Yaroshevskyy and David Coleman to battle it out in a clash of pocket pairs. On the flop, both Yaroshevskyy and Coleman held over pairs, but the former's pocket nines had the latter's pocket sixes in a bad way and neither turn nor river brought a lifeline to the American.

After Coleman's exit, both Holz and Saliba took rough beats to end their runs before Yaroshevskyy bowed out in third place to leave Filatov and Lee to battle it out for the title.

With 120 big blinds between them, Filatov and Lee played the first deep-stacked heads-up match of the series, but the momentum was firmly in the Russian's camp as he won essentially every single hand to lay claim to his first-ever Triton title.

Winter back to winning ways

The last time Sean Winter finished a tournament with all the chips was back in Event #1 of the 2023 PokerGO Cup – 783 days ago. In the interim period, Winter put up plenty of big results and final-table finishes, but just couldn't close out the win for whatever reason.

On Tuesday, the drought ended as Winter rose above the 223 entrant (74 re-entries) field to add a first Triton title to his already-impressive trophy cabinet and deny his heads-up opponent Mikita Badziakouski a sixth title.

After starting the final table in the middle of the pack, Winter laddered up quickly as Kahle Burns hit the rail in eighth place for the second time this series before Jeremy Ausmus followed suit when his pocket jacks were run down by Badziakouski's on a board – a beat which will perhaps provide further musical inspiration

Shortly after Ausmus' exit, Winter managed to score a huge double to bring him near the chip lead when his bested the of Badziakouski. With his new-found chips, Winter picked up a bounty by eliminating Ding Biao. Then, the two short stacks – Ben Tollerene and Klemens Roiter – squared off in a pot which sent the former to the rail in fifth place.

Eibinger was the next player sent to the payout desk, but with 10.5 bounties won – and a minimum bounty prize of $40,000 – he'll add a considerable chunk of change to his winnings during tomorrow's bounty pull. Badziakouski notched another elimination soon after when his held up against Roiter's and, with that, took a slim chip lead into heads-up play.

It took over an hour to decide the winner in Event #7, but when the dust cleared it was Winter who held all the chips.
