In today's highly competitive online cash game environment, any player capable of putting up consistent profits in the high-stakes arena is likely among the best in the world.
And then there are the end-bosses. The apex predators of the online poker food chain.
It's incredibly difficult, nearly impossible, to reach the level that these players operate at. The margins at the top are thin, making it tough to distinguish between a very good player and the cream of the crop.
That’s where a new analysis published by QuintAce comes in.
The dataset behind the analysis combines around 2.6 billion player-hands across five major sites (CoinPoker, GGPoker, WPN/ACR, WPT Global, and PokerStars) to reveal the top 25 winners in no-limit hold'em cash games.
It's important to note that the data doesn't aim to give a definitive answer to the question of who the best cash game players are. Rather, it's simply a list of players who recorded the highest net profits in the dataset.
At the same time, it gives us a peek under the hood at how certain criteria – number of hands played, site, stake level, and table makeup – affect the listed players’ net profits.
Additionally, the hands pulled from PokerStars, GGPoker, CoinPoker, and WPN/ACR are a purchased sample (and thus, incomplete) while the hands from WPT Global are sourced from the site's entire player population.
In three of the purchased samples, there are gaps: GGPoker's data leaves out tables above $10/$20 after October 30, 2023; WPN/ACR lacks data from 2022; PokerStars doesn't include data from $.50/$1 and $1/$2 from July 15, 2025.
Numbers don't lie... or do they?
So, who's making the most money?
The biggest winner on the list is 'huangyangliu', who recorded $5,306,952 in net profit across a sample of just over 700,000 hands.
Further down the list, you'll find some recognizable names: Kayhan Mokri, Wiktor Malinowski, Barak Wisbrod, Linus 'LLinusLLove' Loeliger (pictured above).
There's 'PR0DIGY' – the young phenom, Owen Messere – and 'BERRI SWEET', still an anonymous figure even after years of dominance at the highest levels.
Looking at the list, we can draw a few interesting conclusions right off the bat:
- 14 of the 25 listed players are from WPT Global (8) or CoinPoker (6). GGPoker adds six players of its own while WPN/ACR accounts for four.
- PokerStars, despite being the longest-running site on the list, accounts for only one player.
- Kayhan Mokri's $32.38 in net profit per hand is an impressive figure – but Markus Leikkonen tops it at $39.11 per hand.
- Barak Wisbrod actually occupies two of the top 25 slots – once on GGPoker under his own name and once on WPN/ACR as ‘iWasOnly17’.
- The biggest winners from CoinPoker, aside from Linus Loeliger and Owen Messere, play the majority of their hands heads-up.
Digging deeper
There are more nuggets to delve into when we take a deeper look at the data.
'huangyangliu' may have won the most money, but $3.2 million of their net profits came from 32,830 hands against a single heads-up opponent on a WPT Global partner skin site. Against all other heads-up opponents, 'huangyangliu' lost roughly $310,000.
On January 16, 2026, Mokri recorded the largest single-day profit by hauling in nearly $1.2 million in just 47 hands played. During the session, he was playing at stakes of $2,500/$5,000 – the highest listed in the dataset. That single day will have gone some way towards padding his score.
The top 25 winners on CoinPoker made 79.3% of their net winnings in heads-up games, despite only playing 56.8% in the format. Across the platform, only 12.2% of hands were heads-up, leaving QuintAce to label CoinPoker as a clear outlier amongst the sites. Furthermore, for the top 25 players on CoinPoker, the five best days account for 106.6% of their total profits. If you take away those five days, the median player is in the negative.
And then there's a reality check that's important to note. In looking at each of the sites' respective top 25 lists, we can see that anywhere from 43-47% of active days were, on average, losing days.
Even the biggest winners in the game take losses on nearly half of the days they sit down to play.
In data analysis, as in poker, it pays to crunch the numbers. Just be sure to check all the contributing factors; things are not always as clearcut as they seem.
