The second starting flights for ACR Poker’s two Venom tournaments - one no-limit hold’em and one pot-limit Omaha - run today, January 23, from 12:05pm ET.
The ball got rolling last Sunday, with 102 players of the 886 field advancing to Day 2 in the NLH event. If these numbers repeat, the $8M guarantee will be comfortably surpassed. Day 1a of the PLO version attracted 187 entrants, 23 of whom went through, which again puts it on course to outstrip its $2M guarantee.
Direct entry is $2,650, and it’s possible to play multiple starting flights and combine your stacks for Day 2 if you qualify more than once. Every player who survives a Day 1 will receive a min-cash of $2,500, each time they do so - essentially a buy-in for another Day 1 and a shot at running up a big stack for Day 2, when the mystery bounties will kick in.
Here are the remaining chances to play Day 1 for both the NLH and PLO events - see below for info on satellites.
- Day 1b: Thursday, January 23, 12:05pm ET
- Day 1c: Sunday, January 26, 12:05pm ET
- Day 1d: Thursday, January 30, 12:05pm ET
- Day 1e: Sunday, February 2, 12:05pm ET
Mystery bounty prizes of up to $500K to be won
Each event is running as a mystery bounty, with a top bounty prize of $500,000 in the NLH Venom and $200,000 in the PLO. Minimum bounty prizes in each will be $5,000.
Over 750 seats to the NLH Venom - and more than 70 to the PLO - have been allocated to be awarded in satellites, with a wide range of freeroll, feeders and mega-sats added to the schedule.
Mega Satellites to the NLH are running each Saturday and Sunday at buy-in levels of $55, $109, $290 and $630. It’s possible to freeroll into each level via step satellites.
A ‘Beast’ satelllite is also available this Sunday, January 26, which will award at least 40 seats to Day 1e of the NLH Venom.
A ‘Venom Madness’ phased satellite is running now with a final Day 2 scheduled for February 1, which will also advance players to Day 1e.
Satellites to the PLO Venom are running daily at the $207.50 price point, with $290 Mega Satellites also available each Sunday.
A full satellite schedule can be found at ACR Poker.
The last time the dual Venoms ran they each blew past their guarantees by 15-30%, awarding first-place prize money of over $700K in the NLH and $300K in the PLO. Read the story on the ACR Venom winners here.
