It's going to be a busy month at the virtual tables on CoinPoker.
After keeping the poker world in suspense with talk of an earth-shattering announcement, the site revealed its hand. For nearly the entire month of March, CoinPoker will go rake-free. Starting March 2, all CoinPoker players – existing and new – will receive 100% rakeback in all games. And that's not the only good news.
Alongside the month-long rakeback rollout, CoinPoker will unveil a revamped and revitalized user interface, bigger multi-table tournaments, and new games.
'Changing the product'
CoinPoker's announcement has the poker world buzzing already – with many of the site's ambassadors, Patrick Leonard and Benjamin 'bencb' Rolle included, taking to social media to tout the promotion.
Leonard wrote: "Coin[Poker] are completely changing the product, brand new industry leading software and we are saying come and try it and we won't take a cent."
Rolle, meanwhile, compared the promotion to the days of Supernova Elite on PokerStars – the most lucrative yet incredibly difficult to attain level of rakeback on the site.
"For the very first time ever, you can basically experience Supernova Elite rewards instantly," he explained. "And even bigger than the SuperNova Elite rewards back in the days."
CoinPoker's promotion arrives during one of the busiest times on the online poker calendar – for one of its main competitors. The Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) on PokerStars begins today, March 1, and will run through to March 25. CoinPoker's month of rake-free games kicks off the day after the launch and continues for the remainder of the tournament series. Whether the allure of CoinPoker's gambit will have an effect on player pools elsewhere remains to be seen.
While there's no doubt that the rake-free promotion is a generous offering from the site, it's not the only time in online poker history that an operator has stepped up to this degree. Back in April of 2021, the now-defunct Run It Once Poker ran a 101% Week promotion to celebrate the one-year anniversary of site founder Phil Galfond's historic comeback win in the first of his Galfond Challenge matches.
CoinPoker has officially raised the stakes, so to speak, with their month-long promotion.
