The World Poker Tour (WPT) is headed back to the Lone Star State – specifically The Lodge Card Club in Austin, Texas – later this year for the WPT Prime Lodge Championship.
From September 24 through October 12, The Lodge will play host to an action-packed slate of events that's highlighted by the $1,100 WPT Prime Lodge Championship and its $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Aside from the marquee tournament, players can expect a full schedule of events, satellites, and daily tournaments – providing plenty of opportunities to get in on the action and win your seat in the Lodge Championship.
And for those who can't make the trip to Texas, much of the action from the WPT Prime Lodge Championship will be livestreamed from the card room's state-of-the-art streaming set.
The announcement from the WPT comes in the wake of its recent postponement of the WPT Prime Cyprus Championship. Back in March, the WPT made the decision to reschedule its stop in Cyprus as mounting tensions and war in the Middle East led to travel restrictions and flight cancellations.
Similarly, The Lodge Card Club recently emerged triumphant from a brush with Texas law enforcement that saw the establishment shutter its operations for well over a month.
Harvey Castro defending champ
After a strong debut showing at last year's festival, the WPT is doubling down on its commitment to the poker scene in Texas.
In 2025, Harvey Castro beat out a 1,648-entrant field to claim the lion's share of the $1,598,560 prize pool. Castro went on to be named WPT Player of the Year – distinguishing himself from the thousands of players on the tour with his $411,320 in earnings across the calendar year.
“The response to last season’s WPT Prime Lodge Championship demonstrated just how strong the poker community is in Texas, said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “We are thrilled to return to The Lodge Card Club with another $1 million guaranteed Prime Championship event.”
