The World Series of Poker Circuit will be back in Southern Indiana once again with 17 events at Caesars from September 18 through 29, headlined by a $1,700 Main Event and an opening weekend with four $400 flights.
Caesars Southern Indiana sits on the banks of the Ohio River, drawing poker players from throughout Indiana and the Louisville, Kentucky area. The casino last staged a WSOPC series in May, where Ulises Roman beat 250 entrants to win his first Circuit ring in the Main Event.
Southern Indiana has played host to the WSOP Circuit since November of 2005, when Vinny Vinh beat Men Nguyen and 127 other entrants in a $10,000 Main Event. That was the first year of the WSOPC, but its second season, and Caesars Southern Indiana was then known as just Caesars Indiana.
The schedule rundown
The schedule shakes out with 17 events across 12 days, starting with a $400 one-day NLH event on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 11 am. It's a prelude to two flights for the $400 opener on Friday, Sept. 19 — one at 11 am and one at 4pm. The same schedule repeats on Saturday and the survivors gather for Day 2 on Sunday, Sept 21.
The first full week has plenty of play for the other poker variants, with a $600 pot-limit Omaha buy-in that runs on Monday and a $400 HORSE tournament to follow on Tuesday. Wednesday offers a $400 PLO with $100 re-buys, while Thursday has a $400 NLH/PLO Tag Team and a $400 Big O. A capstone $1,100 PLO one-day tournament will wrap up the non-hold'em events on Friday.
Friday also marks the start of the $1,700 Main Event with the first of two flights. The second follows on Saturday with a Day 2 on Sunday. Everyone will fight for one of the spots in Day 3's finale.
Like every other WSOPC stop between now and December 2, every ring winner wins a $5,000 package to the WSOP Circuit Championship in The Bahamas at the end of the year.
