The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) will swap Czech cities in 2026, moving from Rozvadov to Prague and ending an eight-year run in the border town. The festival will also shift to the spring, with new dates set for March 31 to April 12.

The series, which had traditionally occupied a fall spot on the calendar, will move about two hours down the D5 motorway to its new home at the Hilton Prague. It will offer 15 gold bracelet events across 13 days in the heart of the Czech capital.

“It’s an exciting rebirth of the World Series of Poker Europe in Prague,” said Ty Stewart, Chief Executive Officer of WSOP. “We have a big ambition to elevate this festival to one of the very best in the world and look forward to welcoming players to a great poker city next April.”

From Rozvadov to Prague

Before 2007, winning a WSOP bracelet meant traveling to Las Vegas. That changed in 2007, when the WSOPE debuted with three bracelet events in London — the first time players could win a bracelet outside of Las Vegas. Annette Obrestad won the first-ever WSOPE Main Event and — at 18 years old — became the youngest person ever to win a bracelet.

The series stayed in London for four years before moving to France in 2011, where the Cannes edition awarded seven WSOPE bracelets. After two more years in France, the WSOPE landed in Berlin in 2015. The WSOP Asia-Pacific edition replaced WSOPE in 2014 and 2016, before the European series returned in 2017 with a new home in the Czech Republic.

The move to the country's capital is a welcome one — Prague is one of Europe's most affordable destinations and it is well located to draw players from all over the world. The spring weather is an extra bonus.

The full schedule for next spring's WSOPE is yet to be announced, but players can expect full integration with the WSOP+ app and access to WSOP Express satellites on GGPoker.
