WSOP Online: Use, Tentnowski, Sandberg win gold in early events

Results are in for the first three of 30 WSOP.com ONLINE bracelet events to be conducted on the MI/NJ/NV (Michigan/New Jersey/Nevada) shared platform this summer. In the online opener, Belgium's Miguel Use took down the victory, while Americans Stanton Tentnowski and Evan Sandberg followed up with wins in Events #2 and #3. 

Here's a brief summary of each of the first three MI/NJ/NV events:

Event #1: $555 No-Limit Hold'em - 55th Annual Kick Off

Belgian's Use rolled to the win in the Kick Off to garner his first career bracelet, collecting a $106,613 payout. Use topped a 1,544-entry field to claim the win, in the process collecting more than he had earned in his WSOP career to that point.

Stephen Hemsworth finished as the runner-up for $77,818, while Jonathan Rabinowitz claimed a $57,205 third-place payday. The 1,544 paid entries included 925 distinct players, who added 619 rebuys to produce a $772,000 prize pool. 240 players cashed in the event.

Event #2: $400 NL Hold'em PKO

The second online bracelet of the 2024 WSOP went to New Jersey's Stanton Tentnowski, who took down Event #2, $400 No-Limit Hold'em Progressive Knockout (PKO). Tentnowski topped a 1,962-entry field to win his first career bracelet, joining a Circuit ring he won in 2022 and pushing his lifetime WSOP earnings to more than $275,000.

Tentnowski earned $39,732 in posting the win by eliminating another prior ring winner, Corbin White, who earned $39,731 as the runner-up. Christian Marcon finished third for $24,191. Other prominent players at the final table included Alan Sternberg, Bradley Owen, and Chris Moorman.

The 1,962 total entries included 135 unique players who combined to add another 827 re-entires, creating a $706,320 prize pool. 320 players cashed in the event.

Event #3: $1,000 NL Hold'em

The third WSOP Online MI/NJ/NV bracelet to be awarded this summer was California's Evan Sandberg, who took down Event #3, $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em for a $124,831 score. It's the largest payday of his WSOP career and pushed his lifetime WSOP earnings to just under $650,000. It's also the second career bracelet win for Sandberg, who also took down an online event in 2022.

Sandberg's bracelet win came at the expense of Israel's Uri Reichtenstein, who settled for second place and $91,043. Third went to Louisiana's Joe Hebert, a two-time Circuit ring winner who also won the U.S. half of the 2020 WSOP Main Event, which was conducted online during the COVID-19 closure. Hebert earned $66,931 here.

One hundred and forty-three players cashed in Event #3.
