Live series offers 32 events and satellites to the World Series of Poker Main Event

The World Series of Poker won’t run in its traditional format as the world’s biggest live poker tournament festival this year. A major live tournament series will run in Las Vegas in December however, offering opportunities to satellite qualify into the online version of the 2020 Main Event on WSOP.com.

The Bally’s Main Event Mania series runs at Bally’s Las Vegas from Dec. 10 through Jan. 3. The series offers 32 unique events, as well as multiple satellites into the U.S. side of the 2020 WSOP Main Event.

The first three days of the event (Dec. 10-12) are dedicated to satellite tournament action, with a spot in the $10,000 WSOP Main Event on the line. Each of those three days features three WSOP Mega Satellites, at $580, $1,100, and $2,175 price points.

Qualifiers from those satellites earn an entry into the U.S. side of the 2020 WSOP Main Event. Day 1 of the prestigious tournament runs Dec. 13 on WSOP.com, available to players in Nevada and New Jersey.

Day 1 survivors advance to Day 2 on Dec. 14. Day 2 then plays down to a final table, which reconvenes as a live tournament at the Rio Las Vegas on Dec. 28. The winner of that final table then takes on the winner of the GGPoker side of the WSOP Main Event in a heads-up match at the Rio on Dec. 30.

Main Event Mania running 32 events

As the 2020 Main Event plays out on WSOP.com and GGPoker, Bally’s will concurrently run what is likely one of the most anticipated live events on the poker calendar for the rest of 2020.

Main Event Mania offers 32 events, covering a variety of poker formats. Pot-Limit Omaha, Nine-Game Mix, Triple Stud, Omaha 8 or Better, HORSE, and other poker variants join No-Limit Hold’em on the Main Event Mania schedule. Each tournament winner earns a Main Event Mania trophy, and all tournaments award points to a Player of the Series leaderboard.

The player earning the top spot on that leaderboard earns a $10,000 seat to the 2021 WSOP Main Event.

Notable events on the Main Event Mania schedule include Event: #26: $10,000 Dealer’s Choice, set to run Dec. 29-30. The high-stakes buy-in and format for that event will likely draw one of the most star-studded fields seen in a live event this year.

Another tournament with the potential for a big prize pool comes in Event #28: $2,200 High Roller. That tournament is set to play out from Dec. 30-31.

Series culminates with $1,500 Main Event

The Bally’s Main Event Mania series kicks off the new year with a $1,500 centerpiece event. Event #29: $1,500 Main Event runs Jan. 1-4.

Event #29 features two Day 1 flights, running Jan. 1-2. The survivors of those flights then come back for Day 2 action on Jan. 3, which is scheduled to play down to a final table. Those final table participants then come back to play down to a champion on Jan. 4.

Satellite opportunities to qualify for Main Event Mania events run throughout the series, along with the main tournaments. The series closes out with Event #31: $400 NLHE on Jan. 3, and Event #32: $400 PLO January 3-4.
