Partypoker has cancelled the 2022 MILLIONS UK Festival it had originally scheduled for the end of November. The festival, originally scheduled for November 30 through December 6, 2022, at the Dusk Till Dawn venue in Nottingham, was to have been the last PartyPoker LIVE offering in the UK for the 2022 calendar year.

PartyPoker announced the cancellation in a brief statement on the PartyPoker LIVE website but did not cite a specific cause for the cancellation. Instead, Party declared that the decision "was not taken lightly." Party then cited its intent to focus on the upcoming 2023 Millions slate. According to Antonio Sapio, PartyPoker's Head of Live Events, "At PartyPoker, we are currently working on our 2023 MILLIONS Schedule to make it bigger and better, and we are planning a launch of our new calendar of events later this year. As a result of this launch, we regret to inform you this year’s MILLIONS UK will unfortunately not be going ahead as planned."

Four other PartyPoker LIVE stops scheduled throughout the month of October will run as originally planned. Those stops are the Festival Bratislava (October 11-16), APAT Manchester (October 16-23), the Stockholm Poker Open (October 19-23), and the Malta Poker Festival (October 24-31).

Pre-registered MILLIONS UK players to be refunded

Numerous online players had already qualified for MILLIONS UK events, and those players will be refunded. Sapio stated, "For all qualifiers to date, we are issuing full refunds based on your final chip stack along with Millions Online KO Edition Main event tickets, and you should have received an email to confirm your refund has been credited into your PartyPoker account."

The added Millions Online KO Edition tickets help to compensate for the rake generated for an event no longer to be run. PartyPoker, as expected, chose to spin the abrupt cancellation into a positive for future events. Sapio concluded, " We are very disappointed about this and apologize for any inconvenience, but we look forward to welcoming you to future PartyPoker LIVE events when these have been announced."
