Ben ‘Spraggy’ Spragg is best known as one of the most popular poker personalities on the Twitch live streaming platform. In 2021, Spraggy landed the award of Global Poker Index Streamer of the Year, such has been the impact of his live streams.
While Spraggy is by no means the most successful English poker player of all time, he is one of the most relatable. He learnt the poker ropes in a friend's garage after finishing university in 2012. He then began live-streaming his cash game grind before switching codes to tournament poker.
His growing online profile caught the attention of PokerStars, who promptly made him part of their team of ambassadors in 2017. He regularly takes part in the PokerStars’ World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), and long-time followers were delighted to watch him land big wins in 2020 and 2021.
Away from the webcam, Spragg has also enjoyed success on the live poker circuit. In September 2023, he played the UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) Main Event in Brighton, outlasting 351 other players to win the £1,100-buy-in event and take home the biggest live score of his poker career to date of £69k. Spraggy was heads-up with four-time WSOP bracelet winner Dominik Nitsche in the final table.
It's been a meteoric rise to poker stardom for Spragg, who won a $7.50-buy-in Progressive Knockout event during his first live stream playing poker tournaments online. Today, Spraggy’s following is hundreds of thousands deep. On Twitch, over 160k people follow his every move, while 65k+ subscribers watch him regularly on YouTube.
In 2021 Spragg married fellow poker player and content creator Marle Cordeiro - now known as Marle Spragg. His dry sense of humour and humble nature make Spraggy one of his generation's most engaging poker personalities.
