The ongoing poker tournament series continues to award huge cash prizes

The first-ever online Poker Master Online series continues, and more tournament prizes are being distributed among the best pro poker players in the world. Big names such as Jason Koon are landing massive amounts of money, with Koon taking down the $25,000 event for $549,000. This has been more than a successful series, with most of the events reaching higher prize pools that what was initially guaranteed.

The $25,000 buy-in NLHE 8-max registered 72 entries to almost double the guarantee to $1.8 million. Koon has been keeping a low profile during this series until he was able to take down one of the toughest fields so far. The event saw names like Fedor Holz, Sam Greenwood, Steve O’Dwyer and Justin Bonomo battling for the title, with Greenwood and Holz not making it into the money. The last player on the bubble was Ole Schemion, and all top five players ended up with a six-figure cash prize. O’Dwyer, Bonomo and Koon were the last three men standing in the final table, with Bonomo keeping the runner-up prize for $369,000. With this win, Koon has been launched to the competition for the Poker Masters Purple Jacket leaderboard race.

There was another event taking place, Event #17 $10,000 buy-in PLO 6-max, which registered 92 entries, and the top prize finished in Scandinavian hands. Other names who cashed out from this event were Joao Vieira, Carlo Van Ravenswoud and Jorryt van Hoof, but the final table had two Finns and a Swede battling out the title. The Swede Bengt Sonnert was able to break the Finns and take the second place and a $179,400 prize, while the winner, Eelis Pärssinen, took home $287,781.
