Jeremy Ausmus studied Economics at Colorado State University before a fascination with poker took hold around 2008. He is now a seasoned name on the professional poker circuit. The Colorado-born player has chalked up some impressive achievements in his poker career, with his strategic prowess leading to high-profile tournament successes.
Ausmus first made major waves in 2012 with a deep run at the WSOP Main Event, reaching the final table before busting in fifth. This gave Ausmus the confidence to compete in the biggest events after negotiating such a vast field of entrants.
2012 was a real turning point for Ausmus, considering he also landed a World Poker Tour (WPT) title at the Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas.
Ausmus has won a string of WSOP bracelets since his 2012 breakthrough. Perhaps his biggest claim to fame came in 2021 when he outlasted the likes of Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth to win the $50,000-buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller tournament for a seven-figure payday. In 2023, Ausmus landed another WSOP gold bracelet, winning a $3,200-entry No Limit Hold’em event online.
He has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the game, coupled with a calm and composed demeanour at the tables, which makes him very hard to read. His tournament track record has earned him serious respect among his peers, as has his reputation for good sportsmanship at the tables.
Away from the felt, Ausmus is a keen guitar and piano player, using his musical talents to channel his competitive nature during periods of poker downtime.
