Daniel Negreanu’s defense of his wife against an unwanted comment costs him his place on Twitch
If you were waiting to see poker pro Daniel Negreanu's livestreams on Twitch just like every day during the World Series of Poker (WSOP), you need to prepare to switch to another platform, because he has been officially banned from it. For the second time during the WSOP Online Bracelet Series, Kid Poker has lost his self-control and inner peace, but this time it came with harsh consequences. In addition to that, his apology had more of a sarcastic tone, which didn't help his case.
During his usual livestream at this online series, Kid Poker was the protagonist of a lot of profanity and physical threats towards a commentator who, apparently, insulted his wife, Amanda.
On Monday, when he was streaming Event #27, $400 No-Limit Hold’em (which didn't last long for him since he busted quickly with a suited A-K), Negreanu issued an apology after staying online for a few more minutes after his participation in that event concluded.
"I would like to formally apologize for suggesting that breaking a troll’s teeth and then feeding them to him anally is the appropriate way to deal with an opposing viewpoint," Negreanu said. He continued with the same sarcastic note by saying that "It’s incredibly difficult to shatter teeth, and even for a practicing dentist, it’s even more difficult to place them in someone’s rectum." In a little more serious tone, Negreanu did say that "when someone comes at me with dumb s**t about my wife, it triggers me more than it should." And, regarding the Twitch ban, he said that he was unaware of the terms of service agreement, so "they have every right to give me a warning or a suspension," though a permanent ban seems too much of a punishment.
