The long-time poker pro continues to show why he’s at the top of the charts with his latest win

The ongoing 2020 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) kicked off in late April and it is getting closer to its final day, May 19. This series brought a total of 240 events in which $85 million in guaranteed money was promised. This last week of online poker action comes with a huge load of great poker tournaments that will give proper closure to an already successful series. Towards the series’ end, the first major result was for pro player Steve “Mr. Tim Caum” O’Dwyer, who has taken down the title of the $25,000 buy-in Eight-Max No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller event.

This event registered a total of 89 entries, which took the final prize pool to $2,182,725 and O’Dwyer took home the lion’s share with $521,598. With so many talented poker players, having the largest chip stack early in the tournament won't guarantee a win. This was the case for Andras “probirs” Nemeth, who had the chip lead when there were ten players remaining in the action. Actually, O’Dwyer and Samuel “€urop€an” Vousden had the shortest stacks when the event was resumed. The first player to be knocked out of the game and the bubble was Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky. The next player hitting the rails was Vousden, who couldn't build his stack back up. and the eighth place was for the World Series of Poker bracelet winner Fedor “CrownUpGuy” Holz.

The final heads up match had O'Dwyer facing Nemeth, who was holding double the chips that O'Dwyer had. However, O'Dwyer was skilled enough to fight his way back and get nearly the same amount of chips as his opponent. During the final hand, O'Dwyer went all-in and was lucky enough to outdone Nemeth's A-K in the river.
