This occurred during the recent Triton Poker Series Cash Game Invitational, held at Maestral Resort and Casino in Montenegro.

Better known for high-stakes tournaments, this was Triton's first foray into a purely cash game format, and included Patrik Antonius, Phil Ivey, Rob Yong, Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates, Elizabeth Chen, Tony G, Adrian Mateos, and the CEO of Triton Poker Paul Phua. The blinds were $1,000/$2,000 with a $2,000 big blind ante.

This particular hand pitted Dan 'Jungleman' Cates against ST Wang. Triton’s broadcast on YouTube would periodically choose to make a key player’s hand a mystery until the pot was pushed to an eventual winner. Jungleman's hand was hidden to the viewers here and it turned out he had a monster.

In the video above, Cates talks through the hand moment-to-moment, providing exclusive insight into the thought process of a long-time professional.

Dan Cates is one of the most enigmatic and entertaining players on the tournament and high-stakes scene. He cut his teeth in the heads-up high-stakes online cash games, competing against the best in the game, including Viktor Blom, Phil Ivey, Phil Galfond, Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen, and Tom Dwan.

During live events, Cates tends to spice up many of his appearances as different fantasy and real-life characters. Cates has appeared at the WSOP, Hustler Casino Live and other venues as Macho Man Randy Savage, Dragon Ball Z’s Goku, The Grinch, The Terminator, and most recently on Hustler Casino Live as Aquaman.

This past spring, Jungleman made the finals of the GGPoker YouTube hit Game of Gold, and in an interview with PokerOrg last December, he described in vivid detail his ayahuasca retreat journey in the Costa Rican jungle.

Cates hosts a regular podcast on YouTube, Winning the Game of Life, with some of poker’s biggest names. Some of his most recent guests include Eric Persson, Lex Veldhuis, and Jonathan Jaffe.
