PokerOrg's Terrance 'TJ' Reid hit his biggest career score by far in December, when he finished fourth in the WSOP Super Main Event, for $3 million.
Reid sat down with WSOP bracelet winner and founder of JAKACoaching, Faraz Jaka, to talk through his epic run, breaking down key spots that led to his monster win.
Jaka challenged Reid’s assumptions and play-by-play relentlessly, focusing on details most players may often overlook.
“The review session was a great experience,” says Reid. “Faraz's insight and ability to break down spots in a group setting really benefited everyone."
“It was great having Terrance in the session,” says Jaka. “He’s the perfect example of what happens when a JAKACoaching member actually takes the advice seriously and puts the work in. He isn't a full-time pro; he’s got a job and real-life responsibilities, but he still managed to level up his game in a big way by consistently applying what he learned.”
Break it down
Jaka and Reid picked a pivotal hand from the WSOP Super Main Event final table to break down for PokerOrg – a clash between Reid and Eric Wasserson with seven players remaining and $10 million up top.
Blinds were 2M/5M with a 5M big blind ante. Reid had the covering stack with 27 big blinds (135M), while Wasserson held 20 bigs (101M).
Wasserson opened from the hijack with , prompting Jaka to ask: “What should TJ’s calling range be in this spot?”
