The European Poker Tour's first-ever stop in Cyprus began this week, marking the start of an action-packed eleven-day festival. One of the first EPT spade trophies went to none other than Benny Glaser. The mixed games master, fresh off a mind-blowing run of victories during the 2023 WCOOP, continued his heater with another win.
Event #7: $1,100 8-Game garnered a field of 29 entrants, generating a prize pool of $27,840.
Glaser's victory comes on the heels of a historic WCOOP run that saw the Brit claim seven titles across the series. The record seems likely to remain unbroken for quite some time, but, interestingly, wasn't enough to secure Glaser the Player of the Series title.
The EPT Cyprus stop still has a long way to go and Glaser's hot start might just signal the beginnings of another impressive run.
The schedule of events calls for an action-packed slate of poker over the next week and a half. PokerOrg will keep an eye on all the action over in Cyprus to bring you the highlights.
