This past Sunday saw a huge turnout for the regular poker tournament

The Sunday Scrimmage series run by Global Poker every Sunday took a big swing this weekend with the Sweep Coins (SC)$500,000 guaranteed event. Since most people are still confined at home, these tournaments have proven popular in the last few weeks. Most events are not finding problems in surpassing the guaranteed prize pools in the SC $50,000, the SC$100,000 or the SC$150,000 events.

One tournament that reported an overlay was the SC$200,000 edition, and some concerns were raised regarding the next event for half a million guaranteed. Despite that, it was a huge success, with 1,286 players registering for SC$540 buy-in tournament, taking the total prize pool to SC$643,000. The Sunday Scrimmage tournament lasted a little over seven hours, with 198 players cashing out at least SC$771.

It was an overly exciting and varied final table, with players from multiple states across the country such as California, Oregon, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The lucky winner "Arem" took the title home along with Home Series trophy; he made a big feat by entering the final heads-up contest with a third of the chips his opponent had and still managed to win. The first place granted him an SC$107,381 cash out.

That was the end of the Global Poker Home Series, for now, set aside to welcome the Rattlesnake Open. This new series is also part of the Global Poker Championship Series and will be taking place from May 4 to May 25.
