Commemorative edition of the Sunday Million begins March 21 and guarantees $12.5 million
March 2006 marked the debut of one of poker’s longest-running and iconic online tournaments. As March 2021 rolls around, PokerStars celebrates the 15th anniversary of the Sunday Million with a special edition of the weekly event.
The PokerStars Sunday Million 15th Anniversary event kicks off on March 21, with a pumped-up $12.5 million prize pool. PokerStars reached back to the roots of the Sunday Million by upping the buy-in to $215 for the special event, matching the entry fee from the earlier years of the tournament.
The Sunday Million 15th Anniversary runs as a three-day tournament, with both the winner and runner-up guaranteed at least $1 million in prize money. Here’s a look at how to play in the PokerStars Sunday Million 15th Anniversary event.

Tournament details and PokerStars eligibility
The Sunday Million 15th Anniversary tournament runs on the PokerStars main platform. This online poker site is accessible from many areas of the world, but U.S. players can’t legally play on the PokerStars international client.
To check if you’re in an area that legally allows PokerStars, type “PokerStars.com” into a web browser. If you’re in a blocked area, that search will redirect you to PokerStars.bet, a play money poker site.
If you’re in an eligible area, PokerStars.com will display a “Download Now” link that allows you to download the software. Once downloaded, click on the “$12.5M Sunday Million” link at the top right of the lobby to bring up the tournament details.
As outlined above, the first 18 levels of the tournament play as 20-minute levels, with 15-minute levels for the remainder of the tournament. Day 1 breaks after 18 levels, with late registration available through the start of Day 2.
The tournament allows up to five re-entries and caps at a maximum of 107,000 players. The 15th Anniversary event takes the place of the regularly-scheduled Sunday Million, which runs each week and hits the 15-year milestone with this event.
