Trio of seven-figure guarantees highlights PokerStars Turbo Series schedule
The PokerStars Turbo Series offers opportunities at a wide range of buy-in levels. Entry fees for the 134 events range from $11 to $5,200.
Three different tournaments on the schedule award a prize pool of $1 million or greater.
The first of those takes place on Sunday, Feb. 28. Event #64: $1,050 NLHE PKO 8-Max plays as the biggest progressive knockout event of the series and could be considered the PKO Main Event of the festival.
The official Main Events of the PokerStars Turbo Series both take place the following Sunday, on March 7.
Event #128: $55 NLHE Main Event Low offers a $1,000,000 guarantee at just a $55 buy-in. The opportunity for a massive return on investment could potentially make the Main Event Low the highest attendance draw across the series.
Running concurrently with the Main Event Low is Event #127: $1,050 NLHE Main Event High. The $1,050 buy-in tournament offers a $2 million guaranteed prize pool, the biggest across the PokerStars Turbo Series.
Both the low and high versions of the Main Event kick off at 2:30 EST.
How to register and play in the PokerStars Turbo Series
The Turbo Series runs on the PokerStars international platform, which operates as the world’s largest online poker network. The main PokerStars platform is accessible for players in many parts of the world, but you can’t legally play from the U.S.
The PokerStars international client functions as a separate poker network from PokerStars’ family of U.S. sites. Platforms like PokerStars Michigan, PokerStars Pennsylvania, and PokerStars New Jersey operate as separate platforms, with each only available to players in those states respectively.
If you live in an area with legal access to the PokerStars main client, you can download the software at PokerStars.com. If you type that address into a web browser and it re-directs to the PokerStars.bet address, you’re in an area in which access to the international PokerStars client is illegal.
Jurisdiction laws aside, once you’ve downloaded PokerStars, you’ll need to make a deposit before you can start registering for tournaments. Clicking on the “Cashier” tab at the top right of the main lobby brings up all of the different ways you can fund your PokerStars player balance.
Once you have some money in the bankroll, you can register for Turbo Series events. Click on the “Turbo Series” tab on the horizontal bar near the top of the main lobby to filter for Turbo Series events.
In addition to direct buy-in, you can qualify for most Turbo Series events through satellite tournaments.
Clicking on any Turbo Series event brings up a menu on the right of the tournament listing, featuring details of the event you’ve highlighted. Click on the “Satellites Available” link from that menu to bring up all of the available satellite qualifiers for that event.
