Michael Addamo wins his second WPT High Roller title of the week

Michael Addamo is having quite a week. First he took down the World Poker Tour Online Series $5,200 High Roller Turbo for $87,459 on Sunday. Then he final tabled the WPT Online Series $10,300 WPT High Roller on Tuesday. He took 3rd for $116,183 in that event. Now he's back on top of the podium for the WPT Online Series $25,500 Super High Roller event.

Adding in the $363,661 he won for the $25k event, he's taken down $567,303 in total this week. This is just one good week in what has been a great year for Addamo.

The WPT tweeted a video report on the win with the caption "Main Event winners are stacking up on #WPTOS."

The event attracted 41 entries, only just beating the $1 million guarantee by a single buy-in at $1,025,000. This made for $363,661 and a min-cash of $53,915 for seventh.

The first day of play saw Sam Vousden go out on the bubble, leaving seven players in the money. The international brigade resumed play yesterday, with Addamo in the chip lead.

The player had gone into the FT for the $10k with the lead too, but that time things hadn't worked out quite as planned. He took third.

Straight to the top

It didn't look good at first. History seemed to be repeating itself as Sergi Reixach min-cashed in seventh. Reixach had also min-cashed in 7th place during the WPT online $10k event where Addamo took third.

Reixach's exit cleared the roster board for possible coincidences though. After that, Addamo was up against a new table without any overlaps in personnel with the fateful $10k. This is not as common an occurrence in the high rollers as it is at lower stakes. The high roller fields are just so much smaller.

The Netherlands' Duco Ten Haven went out next, followed by Matthias Eibinger. By four-handed play, it began to be clear that the real showdown here was between Addamo and the terrifyingly sharp Artur Martirosian, winner of the largest no-limit hold 'em hand in online poker history.

Almedin Imsirovic, who started play as the short stack, and Pascal Hartmann fell away in turn. Eventually, only the two colossi were left to battle it out.

The battle didn't take too long. In fact, when the dust had cleared and Addamo had all the chips, he looked at his watch to find the whole final table had taken him less than two hours to win. Martirosian took home $223,350 for second, while Addamo took down his second title of the week.
