The Finnish poker pro takes down the
The poker action at the Poker Masters Online series continues online with the best poker pros resuming activities after a day off.
Finnish player Pauli Äyräs has amassed over $1 million in prize money with his latest takedown of the 19th tournament, a $25,000 buy-in event, adding $548,625 to his total winnings. These tournaments continue to almost double the guaranteed prize pools and giving away points to win the Purple Jacket, and Äyräs is currently leading the race with a fair advantage.
This $25,000 tournament reported 77 entries, allowing it to almost double its $1-million guarantee, which only paid out to the top ten competitors. Names like Christoph Vogelsang, Linus Loeliger and Jorryt Van Hoof, who fell just short, did not make it to the cash. Justin Bonomo and Andras Nemeth made it to the money, but not to the final table.
The final table had Sam Greenwood and Luke Gieles, with Gieles chasing a Poker Masters title for the second time. Third place was all for David Peters, who took home $259,875 and left the table for Greenwood and Äyräs to battle for the title. Once more, Äyräs showed his skills from PLO and NLH, taking the victory of his second title during this 30-tournament series.
The $10,000 NLHE was also played on the same day, collecting 86 entries, and also doubling the prize money. This time, Greenwood was not able to cash out, but Eelis Pärssinen, who also won Event #8, Joni Joukimainen and Adrian Mateos did cash in the tournament. Today's events are basically a re-run of yesterday's events, one for $25,000 and the other one for $10,000, both NLHE.
