Newest PokerGO Tour major sees eight tournaments play out from July 6-14

A relentless week of major live tournament series in Las Vegas rolls along, with another big festival beginning on the Strip today.

The 2021 PokerGO Cup starts today at the PokerGO Studio at Aria Las Vegas. The eight-tournament series plays as one of five high roller “majors” on the PokerGO Tour, and runs July 6-14.

The PokerGO Cup joins the already-established U.S. Poker Open, Poker Masters, and Super High Roller Bowl as high-stakes majors under the PokerGO Tour banner.

That trio of series were known as the “High Roller Triple Crown” in previous years. The three High Roller Triple Crown events are joined by the PokerGO Cup and PokerGO Heads-Up Championship on the ramped-up 2021 schedule.

PokerGO rebranded its high-roller events in 2021, creating the PokerGO Tour. The PokerGO Cup joins the slate as the fourth major under the newly-christened tour.

Per PokerGO tradition, all events on the PokerGO Cup schedule aim to draw the best players from the high-stakes tournament poker economy. The buy-ins start at $10,000, and the series culminates in Event #8: $100,000 No-Limit Hold’em on July 13-14.

Here’s a look at the full schedule for the 2021 PokerGO Cup:

PokerGO Cup showcases No-Limit Hold’em

The first major on this year’s PokerGO Tour schedule played out last month, in the form of the 2021 U.S. Poker Open. That series included several different poker variants, including a pair of mixed-game events.

The PokerGO Cup nixes the multiple-variant format and instead offers a lineup of eight No-Limit Texas Hold’em tournaments at escalating buy-ins. Each event plays as a two-day tournament, and the second day of each event will stream on PokerGO.

As per the standard PokerGO Tour protocol, the PokerGO Cup will feature a series leaderboard. The player who earns the most PokerGO Tour points during the series wins the PokerGO Cup, along with an additional $50,000 prize.
