Matt Berkey runs deep, Nicholas Kiley picks up his first bracelet
This online edition of the biggest and most popular poker series in the world continues to see success, not only for the organization, but also for some pro players, as well. With so many talented poker players competing for a gold bracelet at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Bracelet Series, getting to the final table can be quite hard, so getting to the final table two times in a row seems quite an achievement. This was the case for Matt Berkey, a popular YouTube streamer, who reached back-to-back tables; however, the gold bracelet of those events were not for him and the latest winner was Nicholas Kiley.
Kiley was the winner of the $500 No-Limit Hold’em Summer Saver Event after beating 1,484 unique players and a total of 2,155 entries. He took home the top prize of $149,245 and his first WSOP gold bracelet. This event was #25 of the series being played on WSOP.com and it lasted from Saturday evening to early Sunday morning when Kiley sent Guo Liang Chen to the rails in the final heads-up battle. Chen took the second-place prize of $92,223.
Even if he didn't finish first, Berkey put on quite a show while streaming his participation on his YouTube live-streams. The coach of Solve for Why poker is used to stream his action at the tables from start to finish and besides displaying great poker talent at the tournaments; his charisma makes his live streams very entertaining. He dedicates this time to talk about theory for the poker game and sports with his viewers. He first reached the final table of the $400 No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed event played on Friday night and won $18,638. The next night, he had another deep run by reaching the final table of Event #25, but was eliminated in fifth place for $36,851.
