Kade ousts Negreanu on her way to another money finish on the PokerGO Tour
The first event from the inaugural PokerGO Cup saw a continuation of two emerging trends from 2021. Vanessa Kade found her way into the cash at a high roller event, while Daniel Negreanu found a frustrating exit.
Kade sent Negreanu to the rail in PokerGO Cup Event #1: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em, ousting the GGPoker Ambassador on the stone money bubble. Negreanu finished 11th in the tournament, with 10 money spots up for grabs on the payout ladder.
Kade then went on to finish seventh in the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em event, collecting a $33,000 payout. The money finish marked the third cash on the PokerGO Tour this year for the Americas Cardroom Team Pro.
Kade made two final tables at last month’s U.S. Poker Open, posting the two biggest live cashes of her career. Her runs in U.S. Poker Open $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em (4th - $94,050) and $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em (5th - $138,000) marked what has to be considered a successful debut for Kade on the live high-stakes tournament circuit.
The PokerGO Tour success follows up on a year in which Kade posted her biggest career tournament win. That came in the PokerStars Sunday Million 15th Anniversary Event, which Kade took down for a $1,514,920 payday.
Just days prior to that, Kade signed with Americas Cardroom as the newest Team Pro on the ACR team. That signing came days after Kade found herself in the middle of a dispute with Negreanu’s GGPoker brand over the signing of Dan Bilzerian as an ambassador.
Just over the halfway point in the year, Kade has raised her profile in the poker community to unforeseen heights in 2021.
Negreanu, meanwhile, seemingly can’t find a win in high-profile events this year. His recent frustrations have included enduring a 3-0 sweep by Phil Hellmuth on High Stakes Duel II, and an exit from the PokerGO Tour’s Venetian High Rollers event that led to Negreanu breaking the plexiglass at his table after being eliminated.
While Negreanu’s removal of that plexiglass partition was by all accounts in joking fashion, the recent string of losses can’t be what the game’s No. 3 all-time tournament earnings leader had in mind for 2021.
Alex Foxen leads PokerGO Cup Event #1 final table
Plenty of familiar faces remain in contention for the PokerGO Event #1 championship. The tournament drew 66 total entries, and the eventual winner will take home $178,200.

Alex Foxen leads the final six, with the action resuming at PokerGO Studio at noon Las Vegas time today. Delayed streaming coverage begins on PokerGO at 4 pm EDT/1 pm PDT.
Foxen boasts 11 cashes on the PokerGO Tour in 2021, but the former GPI Global No. 1 player in the world still seeks his first win on the newly formed tour. Sean Perry, who enters the final table third in chips, looks to elevate his current status as the No. 2-ranked player on the PokerGO Tour Leaderboard this year.
The PokerGO Cup includes eight events, all playing as No-Limit Hold’em tournaments. The series runs through July 14, culminating in a $100,000 Main Event scheduled for July 13-14.
