The PokerGO Studio adjacent to the Aria casino on the Las Vegas Strip will soon partner with the One Step Closer Foundation in hosting a charity poker tournament for the benefit of cerebral palsy research. The March 4, 2023 “All in for CP” event has already drawn numerous Hollywood celebrities to its lineup, where they’re expected to be joined by prominent pro players in supporting a very worthy cause.

The One Step Closer Foundation was founded in 2007 by veteran poker enthusiastic Jacob Zalewski, a native of Houston who’s been a regular attendee at major poker events through the years despite battling cerebral palsy himself.

This year’s gala at the PokerGO Studio promises to be one of his foundation’s most successful efforts yet. The celebs already promising to be on hand include Ted Danson, Cheryl Hines, Richard Kind, and Kevin Pollock, with a red-carpet welcome to be hosted by Jessa Hinton. 2009 WSOP Main Event champion Joe Cada is among the many poker pros expected to be in attendance.

According to a PokerGO publicity release, the poker tourney at the core of the event will feature a $1,000 buy-in, plus $500 re-buys and add-on. Fifty percent of the entry fees will be returned to players as prize payouts, while the other fifty percent will go to One Step Closer Foundation’s operating fund.

“The One Step Closer Foundation was founded to better the lives of those and their families with cerebral palsy,” said Zalewski. “With every person we impact, we are one step closer to a world where cerebral palsy is a thing of the past.” Zalewski’s foundation, created with the help of the late Sam Simon, producer and co-developer of “The Simpsons”, has raised roughly $1.5 million in its more than 15 years of existence.

The PokerGO Studio offers limited seating for such special events but at last check, entries remain available. Interested players can sign up online by visiting the One Step Closer Foundation’s sign-up page for the “All in for CP” event.
