The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) will make its return in January of 2023, returning to the live-poker world as a part of the 2023 PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC). PokerStars announced the return of the Bahamas-based series on the PokerStars Blog as part of a bevy of new announcements regarding live poker events in the coming months.

The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure was one of Stars' most history-laden live stops, typically held in January each year immediately following the holiday break. The debut 2004 edition was held aboard a Caribbean cruise ship as a WPT-affiliated stop, but was spun off in 2005 as a land-based series run by PokerStars itself, and despite its location, presented as part of Stars' long-running European Poker Tour (EPT).

PokerStars mothballed the original PCA in 2019 in the face of declining attendance and changes in Stars' global live-event plans. Those plans included the PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC), a tour that was launched in 2018. The PSPC, however, was immediately impacted by the early-2020 arrival of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, and the PSPC itself also went on what will be a three-year hiatus by the time January 2023 arrives.

The PSPC, however, didn't include a Bahamas stop, but that changes come 2023. The added twist is that PokerStars won't be returning to Atlantis Casino and Resort, its longtime home. Instead, the 2023 return of the PCA and the PSPC will occur at the Baha Mar Hotel & Resort in Nassau.

Full details of the events won't be released for quite some time, though the primary dates are known. The entire PokerStars Caribbean Adventure will run January 22 – February 3, 2023 at Baha Mar. The PSPC tour event, which will double as the PCA's main event, runs January 30 – February 3, 2023.

“We have missed our live events as much as our players, so it is our true pleasure to announce the PokerStars Players Championship will take place at Baha Mar in January,” PokerStars' Managing Director & Commercial Officer, Severin Rasset, stated. “Beautiful location, hundreds of qualifiers, with millions to win. If there is one tournament to choose for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, it will be the PSPC. We will provide more details soon on how to get your hands on a Platinum Pass – stay tuned!

It’s been three long years since we were last in the Bahamas for a PokerStars event, but the return is now arranged. And it will be enormous."
