Finland's Eelis Parssinen has become a repeat winner during the 2024 PokerGO Tour PLO series, where he took down the festival's $7,600 PLO Bounty tourney on Friday for the second straight year. Parssinen, a PLO specialist, earned a $131,125 winner's payday and added another $32,500 for collecting 13 bounties (including his own) along the way.

Parssinen came to Friday's six-player, Day 2 streamed finale with the chip lead and except for a challenge from eventual runner-up Isaac Kempton during heads-up play, he was never seriously threatened. Kempton doubled through Parssinen early in their heads-up duel to take a 2:1 edge, but Parssinen soon logged his own double to reverse the counts and went on to close out the win.

Parssinen notched four of the five knockouts at the six-player finale to help pad his pile of collected $2,500 bounties. The US's Kempton earned $84,975 for the second-place run, plus another $27,500 in bounties himself. Third place and $59,225 plus $12,500 in bounties went to the Netherlands' Ronald Keijzer.

Third career PGT title for Parssinen

Friday's triumph gave Parssinen his third career PokerGO Tour victory. Besides his win in this same event last March, he also won the $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha Event #7 at the PGT's 2022 Super High Roller Series in Cyprus. Parssinen has just under $4.2 million in recorded live-tourney winnings, while his largest career payday remains the $545,616 he earned for winning his first WSOP bracelet in 2021, in a $5,000 mixed NLH/PLO event.

Event #2 on the 10-event PGT PLO schedule, $7,600 PLO Bounty, brought in 102 total entries and accumulated a $772,500 prize pool, with one-third of that becoming bounty payouts. The top 15 finishers made the money Thursday evening after Sam Soverel became the event's bubble boy.

Parssinen also moved into second place on the 2024 PGT PLO series leaderboard behind Event #1 winner Allan Le. Le finished tenth in Event #2 to earn enough points to stay ahead of Parssinen at this early leaderboard juncture.
