With the WSOP 2024 schedule finally revealed, poker players can begin making plans for another summer filled with tournament action. After a hugely successful 2023, the 55th World Series of Poker will be hoping to break more records when it returns to the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas casinos from May 28 – July 17. More than 100 extra tables are being added between the two casinos to cater for even more poker players at WSOP 2024.
And, the WSOP has finally dropped what every poker player has been waiting for – the full summer WSOP schedule, with 99 live events, four more than last year. (Online events have not been announced yet.)
The centrepiece is the $10,000 buy-in Main Event, which plays out July 3-17.
We've known the dates of the 2024 WSOP since December, but now players can start to properly plan their summer – and, of course, debate the merits of the schedule on X.
What's new in the 2024 WSOP schedule?
The full WSOP 2024 schedule boasts 99 live events, up from 95 in 2023. As always, the showcase event is the $10,000 Main Event, which starts on July 3. There are four Day 1s, and it plays as a freezeout, which means you can only enter once – up to and including Level 7 on either of the two Day 2s.
That’s not the headline news from the WSOP, though. There are plenty of new events, including Event #1, the $5k Champions Reunion No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout. All former champions have been invited to play this event. Knock any of them out and you get free entry into the $10k Main Event.
That seems like a great way to open the 55th WSOP. And there are lots more new events as well, which you can read about below.
WSOP 2024 schedule features new Bomb Pot and Seniors High Roller events
- Event #41: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold’em; Pot- Limit Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot (8 Handed) – June 15
Winning the prize for the longest name for a bracelet event, this one could also be the most fun. Bomb pots play out the same as traditional hold’em hands, except everyone at the table pays an ante before any cards are revealed and the pre-flop betting round is skipped. That means there’s already a sizable pot to play for as two boards are put out. You need to win both to scoop. This event will play half PLO and half NLHE.
- Event #65: $5k Seniors High Roller No Limit Hold’em – June 26
This does what it says on the tin, but it’s the first time the seniors (50 and over) have had a high roller event at the WSOP. The regular seniors event has been attracting huge crowds (an incredible 8,180 in 2023) and this should prove very popular. It’s a three-day event with a 50,000 starting stack.
- Event #80: $800 Independence Day Celebration No-Limit Hold’em – July 3
This three-day event starts July 3 with two Day 1s and starting stacks of 40,000.
- Event #82: $1,000 No-LImit Hold’em During Main Event
Nothing unusual about this, except it’s a $1k bracelet event that occurs on Day 1D of the Main Event, the busiest Day 1 of the lot. It starts at 7pm, which is a consolation for all the players whose dreams have been shattered by busting out of the Main, and it’s a two-day event.
- Event #89: $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship No-Limit Hold’em
As above, this is a new event that offers a way for Main Event bustouts to carry on playing. This one starts on July 11, which is Day 5 of the Main Event.

Other changes include adjusted starting flights for ‘weekend marquee events’, which will have either three opening flights (Fri-Sun) or four opening flights (Thurs-Sun). Mega Satellites will be run as Landmarks, which means you win your seat after accumulating a certain number of chips. Daily Deep Stack tournaments ($200-$400) will run every day from May 28 – July 15.

Win your way to the 2024 WSOP with GGPoker
Exclusive satellites to the WSOP will run on GGPoker, with the site aiming to send an ambitious 1,000 players to the Main Event. That’s up from 774 players last year, who contributed to the biggest Main Event of all time. You can qualify for the Main Event from as little as $1.
WSOP.com will run domestic satellites and aims to send more than 450 players to the Main Event. It will also run nightly satellites to the next day’s bracelet event.
You can also qualify through live satellites in Main Event Maynia, with locations including Horseshoe St. Louis, Grand Victoria Casino Elgin, Harrah's Cherokee, Horseshoe Tunica, Harrah's Pompano Beach, Thunder Valley Casino Resort, Turning Stone Resort Casino, Horseshoe Las Vegas, Foxwoods Resort Casino, and Graton Casino and Resort.

The WSOP is so much more than the Main Event, but this is still the tournament everyone wants to win. There are four Day 1s, starting on July 3, with late registration open through Level 7 (or until around 4.40pm) on each of the Day 2s.

The Main Event is still the biggest $10k tournament of the year, by far. The 2023 Main Event was the biggest ever, breaking the previous record set in 2006 when Jamie Gold won it.
2006 saw 8,773 hopefuls take their seats in the Main Event, but 2023 blew that number out of the water, attracting a field of 10,043 entrants. In a nod to the past, Gold himself did the 'Shuffle Up and Deal' last year.
The high numbers saw the total prize pool balloon to $93,399,900 with $12,100,000 for first place. Daniel Weinmannavigated his way through the field to claim the top prize and the 2023 WSOP Main Event Champion title.

Following up on a record-breaking 2023
In 2023, the WSOP saw entry numbers rise across the board, in nearly all events. Most notably, the Main Event drew its largest field ever, breaking the record set down in 2006 – the year of Jamie Gold's dominant win.
The 2023 WSOP saw the return of some old faces, including JasonMercier, who picked up his sixth bracelet in Event #60: $1,500 2-7 Lowball Draw, and VanessaSelbst in her role as part of the WSOP Thrill Team.
ChrisBrewer had a productive summer, winning his first two bracelets in Event #40: $250,000 High Roller NLH and Event #69: $10,000 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship. Phil Hellmuth extended his record for most WSOP bracelets won, picking up his 17th in Event: #72: $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty NLH.
